Los proyectos de secuenciaci\u00f3n de los genomas han puesto de manifiesto la existencia de un n\u00famero m\u00e1s elevado de estas estructuras del que se cre\u00eda con anterioridad. Se ha observado la presencia de sds en lugares donde se producen reordenamientos cromos\u00f3micos que dan lugar a las denominadas enfermedades gen\u00f3micas y se ha demostrado su papel como causante de dichos reordenamientos. Asimismo, al comparar las secuencias de los genomas de distintas especies, se ha observado una gran cantidad de estas estructuras en los lugares cromos\u00f3micos en los que se han producido roturas del orden los cromosomas (sintenia) a lo largo de la evoluci\u00f3n.  el trabajo presentado en esta tesis hace referencia al uso de herramientas computacionales para demostrar la presencia y enriquecimiento de sds en los lugares cromos\u00f3micos donde se han producido reordenamientos causantes de reordenamientos en enfermedades gen\u00f3micas y de reordenamientso evolutivos entre los genomas del hombre, el rat\u00f3n y la rata. Estos hallazgos permiten implicar a las sds no s\u00f3lo como causantes de enfermedades humanas, sin\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n como responsables de reordenamientos cromos\u00f3micos que han estado implicados
