El empleo de detectores de silicio en este campo permite el desarrollo de una t\u00e9cnica conocida como m\u00e9todo compton de formaci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes, en que los colimadores mec\u00e1nicos utilizados en spect son reemplazados por detectores de silicio. Los fotones sufren dispersi\u00f3n compton en el silicio (detector de dispersi\u00f3n), y son posteriormente absorbidos en un centelleador. De este modo se evita la relaci\u00f3n inversa entre la resoluci\u00f3n y la eficiencia asociada a los colimadores mec\u00e1nicos, y permite la mejora de ambas simult\u00e1neamente. es de particular inter\u00e9s la aplicaci\u00f3n de esta t\u00e9cnica a la construcci\u00f3n de una sonda prost\u00e1tica. El c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata es uno de los m\u00e1s frecuentes entre los varones. Sin embargo, las t\u00e9cnicas comunmente utilizadas para la detecci\u00f3n de tumores, que dan excelentes resultados en otros tipos de c\u00e1ncer, no son adecuadas en este tipo de c\u00e1ncer. Una sonda compton permitir\u00eda mejorar en un factor 5 la resoluci\u00f3n espacial de los m\u00e9todos empleados en la actualidad, y la eficiencia en un fctor 40 seg\u00fan las simulaciones realizadas. se ha llevado a cabo la construcci\u00f3n de un primer prototipo de una sonda prost\u00e1tica. el detector de dispersi\u00f3n est\u00e1 compuesto por cinco m\u00f3dulos de silicio, equipados con sensores de 1 mm de grosor. Como detector de absorci\u00f3n se han utilizado tres m\u00f3dulos centelleadores de nal(ti) situaddos a ambos lados y debajo. El an\u00e1lisis de los datos y la reconstrucci\u00f3n de las im\u00e1genes permite obtener la resoluci\u00f3n del prototipo. Se ha verificado la mejora de la resoluci\u00f3n para \u00e1ngulos de dispersi\u00f3n bajos, mayor distancia del sector de dispersi\u00f3n al de absorci\u00f3n, y mayor energ\u00eda del fot\u00f3n incidente.
