Presenta un solo tipo de inmunidad, denominada innata, la cual es exclusivamente celular y filogen\u00e9ticamente m\u00e1s antigua que la adquirida, siendo los hemocitos las poblaciones celulares presentes en hemolinfa de este molusco, las  encargadas de la defensa de estos organismos. La respuesta inmune es regulada por m\u00faltiples y complejas interacciones entre mol\u00e9culas como lps, tnf, il-2, pdgf, tgf, no, etc. Y tambi\u00e9n por prote\u00ednas implicadas en las rutas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales de la respuesta inmunitaria. Este trabajo permiti\u00f3 estudiar la influencia dellipopolisac\u00e1rido (lps) y algunas citoquinas (tnf, il-2, pdgf ytgf) en la resuesta de hemocitos de mytilus galloprovincialis lmk. Para ello y entre otras, se cuantific\u00f3 la producci\u00f3n de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico (no) y la expresi\u00f3n proteica de hemocitos de mejill\u00f3n. En primer lugar, fue necesario adaptar un medio de cultivo, el als suplementado, que permitiese mantener la viabilidad celular y al ser incolor, no interfiriese con los reactivos del m\u00e9todo colorim\u00e9trico de griess empleado para la cuantificaci\u00f3n del no. De todos los inductores empleados (lps, tnf, il-2, pdgf ytgf), solamente la il-2 provoca notables incrementos de la producci\u00f3n de no; sorprendentemente, el lps, conocido estimulador de esta s\u00edntesis en vertebrados, en hemocitos no provoca dicha inducci\u00f3n. Durante el desarrollo del trabajo experimental, se valor\u00f3 la proporci\u00f3n de los tipos celulares detectados en hemolinfa de mytilus galloprovincialis, c\u00e9lulas sh y c\u00e9lulas rh, apreciando que la proporci\u00f3n de sh es menor durante el verano, \u00e9poca en la que se observa una mayor producci\u00f3n basal de no.
