Este s\u00edndrome ha sido definido como el resultado del estr\u00e9s cr\u00f3nico que es t\u00edpico de la cotidianeidad del trabajo, principalmente cuanto en \u00e9ste existe exceso de presi\u00f3n, conflictos, pocas recompensas emocionales y reconocimiento. El presente estudio, de car\u00e1cter exploratorio-correcional, evalu\u00f3 el nivel de s\u00edndrome de bornout en profesores de instituciones privadas de la regi\u00f3n metropolitana del estado de r\u00edo grande do sul (brasil), verificando la existencia de diferencias significativas entre profesores universitarios y no universitarios. Tambi\u00e9n busc\u00f3 verificar la existencia de asociaci\u00f3n entre burmout, factores de motivaci\u00f3n, factores de satisfacci\u00f3n en el trabajo, variables demogr\u00e1ficas y profesionales, as\u00ed como las variables predictivas de las dimensiones de burmout.  la muestra estuvo constituida por 563 profesores de ense\u00f1anza infantil, b\u00e1sica, media y universitaria; siendo que, de \u00e9stos, 280 pertenecen al grupo de universitario y 283 al de no universitarios.
