Para un mayor entendimiento de los procesos implicados en el desarrollo de enfermedades desmielinizantes como \u00e9sta, es importante la utilizaci\u00f3n de modelos experimentales en los que se pueda provocar el proceso de desmielinizaic\u00f3n y que permitan la obtenci\u00f3n de nuevas dianas moleculares de inter\u00e9s. El modelo utilizado en este trabajo consisti\u00f3 en el aislamiento y cultivo de oligodendrocitos a partir de nervio \u00f3ptico de rata perinatal (p12).  estos cultivos fueron estimulados con agonistas de los receptores glutamat\u00e9rgicos (ampa o kainato) a concentraciones apopt\u00f3ticas simulando as\u00ed el proceso de muerte oligodendroglial que ocurre en la enfermedad.  con el fin de obtener una visi\u00f3n global de los cambios que ocurren en la c\u00e9lula se realiz\u00f3 un an\u00e1lisis de expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica diferencial con chips de expresi\u00f3n (affymetrix(r)) en cultivos estimulados y cultivos control. los resultados fueron validados por pcr cuantitativa a tiempo real obteni\u00e9ndose una lista de genes cuya expresi\u00f3n var\u00eda tras la aplicaci\u00f3n de los est\u00edmulos. Uno de ellos, dusp6, result\u00f3 estar implicado en el proceso de muerte exitott\u00f3xia ya que la inhibici\u00f3n de su s\u00edntesis mediante oligonucle\u00f3tidos antisentido result\u00f3 en un aumento de la supervivencia celular tras la aplicaci\u00f3n  de est\u00edmulos excitot\u00f3xicos, lo que supone un punto de partida para el dise\u00f1o de nuevos
