Esta aparente contradiccion permite, ademas de cuestionar la veracidad de una se\u00f1alada perdida de atractivo de la integracion, evidenciar su vigencia y la existencia de una variedad de opciones estrategicas de integracion vertical. Ahora bien, su configuracion en la empresa no se puede ce\u00f1ir unicamente a las decisiones estrategicas relativas al numero de etapas, grado y forma, sino que debe incluir asimismo aquellas dimensiones de caracter estructural que contribuyen a mantener la necesaria coherencia estrategia-estructura. El interes de este trabajo reside en su analisis de la relacion entre dimensiones estrategicas y estructurales que, pese a las abundantes discusiones en torno a la relacion estrategia-estructura, se ha visto tradicionalmente olvidada, por lo que la estrategia empresarial de integracion vertical se refiere. Sin embargo, dicha relacion no va a ser considerada aisladamente sino que nos proponemos estudiarla sin olvidar las fuerzas de contexto cuya presencia condiciona los efectos derivados de la combinacion de decisiones elegida para la integracion vertical corporativa.
