Teresa <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Las proteinas g participan en los procesos de transduccion de se\u00f1ales en la membrana plasmatica. En este trabajo se ha estudiado la presencia y significado funcional de las proteinas g en el cuerpo carotideo (cc).  las celulas quimiorreceptoras del cc se activan ante la disminucion de la po2 y\/o ph sanguineos aumentando la secrecion de neurotransmisores.  describimos por primera vez en el cc varias proteinas g, que con tecnicas de adp-ribosilacion e inmunologicas, se han identificado como gs, go, gi2, gi3, gq, g11 y g12; la gs y go presentan propiedades diferentes a las descritas en otros tejidos.  su participacion en el proceso de deteccion de la po2 y el ph se ha estudiado mediante la aplicacion de tratamientos que modifican la funcionalidad de tipos especificos de proteinas g y determinando los cambios que se producen en la respuesta secretora y en los niveles de ampc. Dichos tratamientos modifican de manera diferencial la respuesta secretora ante la hipoxia y la acidosis evidenciando la participacion de proteinas g diferentes en la deteccion de la po2 y del ph. El incremento en los niveles de ampc que produce la hipoxia se modifica por dichos tratamientos de forma distinta dependiendo de la presencia o no de ca2+ extracelular; el ca2+ es necesario para la liberacion de neurotransmisores. Concluimos que el aumento de ampc inducido por la hipoxia en el cc esta regulado por una proteina g especifica del tipo go.
