Los dos primeros cap\u00edtulos muestran la caracterizaci\u00f3n fisiol\u00f3gica de dos mutantes de tomate, hipersensibles a estr\u00e9s salino, que fueron aislados previamente: tss1 y tss2.  el estudio del mutante tss1 comprende el an\u00e1lisis del papel del ca2+ y nh4+ sobre el transporte de k+ y su implicaci\u00f3n en la tolerancia a nacl.  los resultados obtenidos ya han sido publicados plant physiology (rubio et al., 2004) y muestran que el incremento de la concentraci\u00f3n externa de ca2+ suprime las deficiencia del transporte de k+ del mutante tss1, observadas tanto en presencia como en ausencia de nh4+. En el segundo cap\u00edtulo se presenta el estudio de la relaci\u00f3n entre etileno y aba en la tolerancia a estr\u00e9s osm\u00f3tico utilizando el mutante tss2.  los resultados obtenidos indican que le mutante tss2 tiene afectada la producci\u00f3n de etileno dependiente de aba en situaciones de estr\u00e9s osm\u00f3tico. el \u00faltimo cap\u00edtulo recoge la caracterizaci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis funcional de una familia g\u00e9nica de arabidopsis denominada ttl. Esta nueva familia g\u00e9nica est\u00e1 implicada en la regulaci\u00f3n de la respuesta a trav\u00e9s osm\u00f3tico mediada por aba.  los resultados obtenidos muestran que los genes ttl codifican prote\u00ednas que funcionar\u00edan como reguladores positivos de la cascada de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n mediada por aba durante la germinaci\u00f3n en condiciones de estr\u00e9s
