En particular, el \u00e1rbol de formas ofrece una representaci\u00f3n estructurada y compacta de la familia de l\u00edneas de nivel de una imagen. Esta representaci\u00f3n se ha usado en muchas aplicaciones de procesamiento de im\u00e1genes como filtrado, registro, o an\u00e1lisis de formas. aqu\u00ed, mostramos como se puede utilizar para segmentaci\u00f3n, optimizaci\u00f3n del a tasa de distorsi\u00f3n, y codificaci\u00f3n. Abordamos el problema de segmentaci\u00f3n y de optimizaci\u00f3n de la tasa de distorsi\u00f3n usando el algoritmo de guigues en una jerarqu\u00eda de particiones. Esta jerarqu\u00eda se construye usando el funcional de energ\u00eda multiescala de mumford-shah simplificado, todo ello subordinado a la familia de l\u00edneas de nivel de la imagen. Una vez hecho esto, para segmentar una imagen, minimizamos el funcionale simplificado de mumford-shah en el conjunto de particiones representadas en esta jerarqu\u00eda. el problema de codificaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptima de la imagen, seg\u00fan la llamada \u00abrate-dustortion theory\u00bb, tambi\u00e9n se resuelve en la misma jerarqu\u00eda de particiones. En el caso de codificaci\u00f3n, proponemos un modelo variacional para seleccionar una familia de l\u00edneas de nivel de una imagen de niveles de gris con la que obtenemos una descripci\u00f3n m\u00ednima de la imagen. Nuestro funcional de energ\u00eda representa el coste en bits de codificar las l\u00edneas de nivel seleccionadas controlando, al mismo tiempo, el error m\u00e1ximo de la imagen reconstruida. En este caso, se utiliza un algoritmo voraz (greedy) para minimizar el funcional correspondiente. Incluimos varios experimentos para cada algoritmo. la estimaci\u00f3n del movimiento en una secuencia de im\u00e1genes es una herramienta clave en muchas aplicaciones de procesamiento de v\u00eddeo.
