Despu\u00e9s de una reflexi\u00f3n te\u00f3rica sobre la oralidad en general y sus caracter\u00edsticas ling\u00ed\u00bc\u00edsticas, esc\u00e9nicas y teatrales, se identifican las ra\u00edces, las influencias y las situaciones (culturales, sociales y econ\u00f3micas) que han propiciado la difusi\u00f3n de lo que en italia se ha etiquetado como teatro de narraci\u00f3n, mientras en el \u00e1mbito hisp\u00e1nico suele definirse narraci\u00f3n oral esc\u00e9nica.  teniendo en cuenta la escasa bibliograf\u00eda sobre el tema, el estudio se basa en una encuesta entre narradores italianos y espa\u00f1oles, que ha permitido recabar informaci\u00f3n sobre cuestiones como su formaci\u00f3n profesional, su repertorio, sus procesos art\u00edsticos y las definiciones te\u00f3ricas
