Anomal\u00edas de la sinapsis y de la recombinaci\u00f3n mei\u00f3tica se han considerado como dos posibles causas de bloqueo total o parcial de la meiosis. El objetivo general de este trabajo es estudiar la incidencia de anomal\u00edas sin\u00e1pticas y de recombinaci\u00f3n en individuos controles e inf\u00e9rtiles para caracterizar diferentes grados de anomal\u00edas en estos procesos en infertilidad idiop\u00e1tica.  se han procesado biopsias testiculares de siete individuos control y de trece inf\u00e9rtiles. La detecci\u00f3n inmunofluorescente de prote\u00ednas de cs (scp1 y scp3) y de lugares de recombinaci\u00f3n (mlh1) se ha utilizado por primera vez en combinaci\u00f3n con un m\u00e9todo de hibridaci\u00f3n in situ fluorescente con m\u00faltiples sondas subtelom\u00e9ricas espec\u00edficas (stm-fish), que permite la identificaci\u00f3n de todos los scs de una c\u00e9lula en paquiteno.  las regiones de heterocromatina no centrom\u00e9rica, 9qh, 1qh, 16qh y brazos cortos de los cromosomas acroc\u00e9ntricos, han presentado una mayor incidencia de anomal\u00edas sin\u00e1pticas en todos los individuos, indicando que son las \u00faltimas regiones del genoma en hacer sinapsis. La incidencia de anomal\u00edas sin\u00e1pticas en estas zonas var\u00eda entre individuos, hecho explicable por polimorfismos de estas regiones en la poblaci\u00f3n general. Anomal\u00edas sin\u00e1pticas en otras zonas, aqu\u00e9llas que afectan a varios css en un mismo n\u00facleo o aqu\u00e9llas presentes en estadio tard\u00edo de paquiteno podr\u00edan indicar una afectaci\u00f3n severa de la sinapsis. Los css de los cromosomas 15 y 21 se asocian m\u00e1s frecuentemente al par de cromosomas sexuales posiblemente debido a homolog\u00eda existente entre las regiones heterocrom\u00e1ticas de estos
