Este silicio residual afecta negativamente las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas de las piezas de alta temperatura, limitando el uso de estas piezas a temperaturas inferiores a los 1200 c. El presente trabajo presenta un m\u00e9todo para obtener piezas por infiltraci\u00f3n reactiva libres de silicio residual. La base de este m\u00e9todo consiste en la sustituci\u00f3n de dicho silicio por compuestos con un mayor punto de fusi\u00f3n y propiedades mec\u00e1nicas superiores: siliciuros de metales refractarios. Estos siliciuros se obtienen in situ por reacci\u00f3n de carburos presentes en las preformas con el  silicio durante el proceso de infiltraci\u00f3n. Este trabajo est\u00e1 dividido en tres partes fundamentales. estudio de la reacci\u00f3n de los carburos con el silicio y determinaci\u00f3n de las caracter\u00edsticas de los siliciuros resultantes. Desarrollo de un m\u00e9todo de preparaci\u00f3n del sic obtenido en el proceso de infiltraci\u00f3n con silicio. preparaci\u00f3n de piezas reforzadas, caracterizaci\u00f3n de los materiales obtenidos y comparaci\u00f3n con los materiales obtenidos sin presencia de refuerzo. Los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo han sido enteramente satisfactorios, obteni\u00e9ndose piezas reforzadas carentes de silicio residual y con unas propiedades mec\u00e1nicas notablemente
