Este material destaca por exhibir una alta dureza, bajo fricci\u00f3n y buena resistencia al desgaste. Gracias a sus excelentes propiedades mec\u00e1nicas y tribol\u00f3gicas, el dlc presenta numerosas aplicaciones como recubrimiento protector y lubricante s\u00f3lido. Como ejemplos, podemos citar el recubrimiento de herramientas de corte, discos duros de ordenador y pr\u00f3tesis ortop\u00e9dicas. Las t\u00e9cnicas m\u00e1s frecuentes para el dep\u00f3sito de dlc son el dep\u00f3sito qu\u00edmico en fase vapor activado por plasma (pecvd), el arco cat\u00f3dico, y la pulverizaci\u00f3n cat\u00f3dica.     una desventaja importante presentada por las capas de dlc en su elevado esfuerzo compresivo residual, factor que limita el grosor de las capas a una pocas decenas de nan\u00f3metros. La superaci\u00f3n de este grosor provoca inestabilidades en el material que conducen a problemas de adhesi\u00f3n incluso a la de la minaci\u00f3n de la capa. En la literatura se proponen varias soluciones para reducir las tensiones internas del dlc y as\u00ed rebajar este esfuerzo mec\u00e1nico, como por ejemplo el dep\u00f3sito de capas met\u00e1licas de anclaje y de estructuras repetitivas en multicapa de periodo nanom\u00e9trico. el objetivo de esta tesis ha consistido en preparar diferentes estructuras de dlc y modificar sus propiedades mediante la variaci\u00f3n de los par\u00e1metros tecnol\u00f3gicos de dep\u00f3sito. El an\u00e1lisis de los resultados de caracterizaci\u00f3n de las muestras nos han proporcionado su estructura, morfolog\u00eda, propiedades qu\u00edmicas, \u00f3pticas, el\u00e9ctricas y de superficie.     una parte de este trabajo trata sobre el crecimiento de dlc por la t\u00e9cnicas de pecvd mediante una fuente pulsasda-dc de lata potencia que alimenta un plasma de metano. Esta tecnolog\u00eda ofrece varias ventajas, como la reducci\u00f3n del esfuerzo intr\u00ednseco del dlc y el incremento de la velocidad de dep\u00f3sito, todo ello logrado, utilizando una
