Dentro de este marco se centra en la s\u00edntesis de iminoespiroaz\u00facares, compuestos que tambi\u00e9n pueden ser considerados esprio-c-nucle\u00f3sidos. Ambos tipos de compuestos son considerados de gran inter\u00e9s por su potencial actividad biol\u00f3gica y farmacol\u00f3gica.     en lo que se refiere a la s\u00edntesis de iminociclitoles se pueden distinguir en esta tesis dos metodolog\u00edas distintas para llegar a ellos.     por un lado, el uso de 1,6 y 1,45 anhidroazaaz\u00facares como intermedios quirales clave permite llegar a anillos de siete v\u00e9rtices (azepanos) y de cinco v\u00e9rtices (polihidroxipirrolidinas) respectivamente. En caso de 1,4-anhidroazaaz\u00facares estos compuestos tambi\u00e9n reaccionan con etanotiol dando lugar despu\u00e9s de la adici\u00f3n de etanotiol y ciclaci\u00f3n intramolecular a etiltiooxopirrolizidinas. Estas sustancias son tioglic\u00f3sidos de iminociclitoles y por ello presentan numerosos usos potenciales no solo desde el punto de vista farmacol\u00f3gico y biol\u00f3gicos sino tambi\u00e9n desde el punto de vista sint\u00e9tico como donadores de glicosilo e inductores quirales.     por el otro lado, se utilizan nitronas c\u00edclicas derivadas de carbohidratos como intermedios quirales en la obtenci\u00f3n, mediante adici\u00f3n de compuestos de grignard, de pirrolidinas con sustituyentes lipof\u00edlicos en la posici\u00f3n 2. Esta parte de la tesis doctoral se realiz\u00f3 en stuttgart bajo la direcci\u00f3n del proffesor volker j\u00ed\u00a4ger. Los compuestos obtenidos se sometieron a pruebas de inhibici\u00f3n enzim\u00e1tica y demostraron ser potentes inhibidores de la fucosidasa.     en lo que respecta a la preparaci\u00f3n de iminoespiroaz\u00facares se utiliza la adici\u00f3n de cianuro de trimetilsililo a espiroacetales derivados de la d-fructosa seguida de reducci\u00f3n, mesilaci\u00f3n y ciclaci\u00f3n para obtener n-mesilglicoespiroazetidinas solubles en agua.
