En particular la mayor parte del trabajo se centra en la aplicacion de las ecuaciones de paridad de entrada y salida como tecnica de diagnostico.  se han desarrollado nuevos criterios de dise\u00f1o en los generadores de residuos, o en los estimadores de parametros. Una primera aportacion en esta linea, ha sido la experimentacion de un modelo de red neuronal como sustituto de una ecuacion de paridad convencional, para la identificacion de un sistema no lineal. El esfuerzo fundamental de este trabajo se ha centrado, sin embargo, en la etapa final del diagnostico, donde los residuos generados deben conducir a la decision del diagnostico.  para ello se ha realizado un estudio de la sensibilidad de los residuos, producidos por las ecuaciones de paridad, frente a los posibles fallos. Los resultados obtenidos permiten ofrecer tres metodos de decision basados en las estimaciones de la sensibilidad. El mismo analisis de la sensibilidad ha llevado al dise\u00f1o de un estimador para el tama\u00f1o de los fallos. La experimentacion, con casos sencillos simulados por computador, ha permitido refrendar los metodos propuestos.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
