informaci\u00f3n contenida en esta tesis hace referencia al aislamiento, purificaci\u00f3n y la elucidaci\u00f3n de metabolitos obtenidos a partir de salivas pachyphylla y clevelandii, y de la b\u00fasqueda de productos bioactivos a trav\u00e9s de la s\u00edntesis orientada a la diversidad en el espacio qu\u00edmico de compuestos de tipo diterpeno. en la introducci\u00f3n se presenta una breve historia del nacimiento de los compuestos de inter\u00e9s biol\u00f3gico, describiendo tambi\u00e9n la importancia de los estudios fitoqu\u00edmicos y s\u00ednteticos de los mismos para su aplicaci\u00f3n en los diferentes campos de la ciencias naturales. el cap\u00edtulo 1 muestra las t\u00e9cnicas de aislamiento, purificaci\u00f3n y los resultados espectrosc\u00f3picos delos metabolitos obtenidos de salvias pachyphylla y clevelandii. el cap\u00edtulo 2 presenta el desarrollo sint\u00e9tico orientado a la generaci\u00f3n de posibles diterpenos bioactivos de tipo abietano, y la derivatizaci\u00f3n de los mismos para evaluar su actividad biol\u00f3gica. el cap\u00edtulo 3 expone la s\u00edntesis qu\u00edmica y la elucidaci\u00f3n de diferentes an\u00e1logos dim\u00e9ricos del compuestos anticancersoso clerocidina. finalmente el cap\u00edtulo 4 describe los resultados de los ensayos de actividad antimicrobiana y citotoxica de los productos e intermedios
