La mayor preocupaci\u00f3n por el medio ambiente ha llevado a prohibir la comercializaci\u00f3n de gasolinas con plomo en todo el territorio nacional y a que se reduzca el contenido de compuestos arom\u00e1ticos, entre otros, lo que incide negativamente en el \u00edndice de octano que ha de ser compensado con otros componentes menos nocivos. la isomerizaci\u00f3n de alcanos ha sido utilizada industrialmente desde hace d\u00e9cadas para aumentar el \u00edndice de octano delas gasolinas. Este proceso convierte los componentes paraf\u00ednicos normales con bajo \u00edndice de octano, en is\u00f3meros de cadena ramificada y alto octanaje por reorganizaci\u00f3n de los enlaces entre \u00e1tomos.  en esta investigaci\u00f3n se ha llevado a cabo el proceso de hidroisomerizaci\u00f3n de n-octano sobre catalizadores basados en las zeolitas mordenita, beta y zsm-5. Como funci\u00f3n met\u00e1lica se han empleado paladio y\/o platino. Adem\u00e1s, la mayor\u00eda de los catalizadores industriales requieren ser aglomerados con alguna especie o aglomerante que permita obtener part\u00edculas m\u00e1s resistentes y evita as\u00ed una excesiva ca\u00edda de presi\u00f3n en los reactores de lecho fijo industriales. La presencia del aglomerante puede afectar alas propiedades \u00e1cidas de la zeolita, por lo tanto el estudio de la influencia de la presencia del aglomerante en catalizadores zeol\u00edticos, tambi\u00e9n resulta de gran interes.  otros aspectos estudidos han sido: el contenido m\u00e9talico, la relaci\u00f3n si\/al de la zeolita, el estudio de la influencia delas condiciones de reacci\u00f3n, elaboraci\u00f3n de un modelo cin\u00e9tico para la reacci\u00f3n de hidroisomerizaci\u00f3n de n-octano e hidroisomerizaci\u00f3n de una fraacci\u00f3n hidrocarbonada procedente de una
