En cambio, los macr\u00f3fagos estimulados con citocinas de tipo th2, como la interleucina 4 (il-4), se activan por la \u00abv\u00eda alternativa\u00bb mediante la inducci\u00f3n de la arginasa y utilizan la l-arginina para producir poliaminas. nuestros resultados indican que la activaci\u00f3n cl\u00e1sica y alternativa aumentan el transporte de arginina a trav\u00e9s del sistema y+, induciendo la expresi\u00f3n de slc7a2. En condiciones b\u00e1sales el transporte por el sistema y+ se debe \u00fanicamente a cat1, mientras que en los macr\u00f3fagos activados tanto por la v\u00edas cl\u00e1sica como por la v\u00eda alternativa, el aumento de transporte esta mediado por slc7a2 o cat2. En efecto, en ausencia de slca2, la activaci\u00f3n de los macr\u00f3fagos est\u00e1 limitada. El transporte de arginina es independiente de los niveles de expresi\u00f3n de la nos2 o arginasa. La regulaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de los genes implicados en la activaci\u00f3n cl\u00e1sica (mhc clase ii, ia-beta, nos2 o tnf-alfa), en la activaci\u00f3n alternativa (arginasa i o receptor de la manosa) o en el transporte mismo (slc7a1 o slc7a2) es independiente de la presencia de arginina en el medio extracelular.     los macr\u00f3fagos son capaces de proliferar en los tejidos en respuesta al m-csf. La proliferaci\u00f3n de los macr\u00f3fagos depende de la presencia de arginina en el medio extracelular. La proliferaci\u00f3n y la activaci\u00f3n de los macr\u00f3fagos inducen diferentes v\u00edas de catabolios de la arginina. A diferencia de los macr\u00f3fagos tratados con ifn-gamma+lps o il-4+il-10, durante la proliferaci\u00f3n los macr\u00f3fagos utilizan una parte de la arginina para s\u00edntesis proteica, y el exceso lo intercambian con el medio extracelular.
