La primera de ellas trata de la obtenci\u00f3n de receptores rectangulares metaloc\u00edclicos autoensamblados con centros met\u00e1licos de paladio (ii) y platino (ii). Los esqueletos de dichos receptores los componen, en los lados de los rect\u00e1ngulos, ligandos bidentados con grupos viol\u00f3genos mono o dicuaternizados, 3- o 4- alquilpiridinas y en algunos casos, grupos fenileno. Las \u00abesquinas\u00bb del rect\u00e1ngulo las forman grupos -ch2- y los propios centros met\u00e1licos. Las estrategias utilizadas para llevar a cabo los autoensamblajes incluyen el autoensamblaje termodin\u00e1mico estricto y el autoensamblaje dirigido por medio de un ani\u00f3n plantilla. los metalocilcos obtenidos fueron caracterizados mediante resonancia magn\u00e9tica nuclear y espectrometr\u00eda de masas de baja resoluci\u00f3n y en el caso de los metalociclos de platino (ii) tambien de alta resoluci\u00f3n dando en todos los casos resultados sastifactorios.  una vez obtenidos los receptores metaloc\u00edclicos, se estudia la complejaci\u00f3n de sustratos org\u00e1nicos por parte de los mismos. Debido a las dimensiones de las cavidades que poseen y a la naturaleza de elos elementos estructurales que los forman, se llega a la conclusi\u00f3n de que las mol\u00e9culas o iones con grupos arom\u00e1ticos son sustratos ideales para nuestros receptores. El estudio contempla, por una parte, las interacciones entre receptor y sustrato y aspectos estructurales de los complejos de inclusi\u00f3n, haciendo uso de la resonancia magn\u00e9tica nuclear.
