El inter\u00e9s acad\u00e9mico en el film de \u00e9poca se ha centrado mayoritariamente en la transformaci\u00f3n de diversas formas de escrituras en lenguaje f\u00edlmico (a trav\u00e9s de cuestiones de representaci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica, traducci\u00f3n y adaptaci\u00f3n).  esta tesis, sin embargo explora posible modos de conceptualizar lo visual como escritura, es decir, como portador de elementos textuales que anulan la inmediatez ontol\u00f3gica, el realismo del plano cimematrogr\u00e1fico en el contexto del film narrativo.
