Con fundamento en teor\u00edas y conceptos de ense\u00f1anza m\u00e9dica, el estudio de las transiciones acad\u00e9micas, y utilizando un enfoque multimetodol\u00f3gico, se dise\u00f1aron y aplicaron tres instrumentos; un cuestionario estructurado y dos encuestas semiestructuras para 43 estudiantes y una entrevista semiestructurada a 31 profesores de cuarto curso. (Cohorte 1999), entre momentos del ciclo escolar. Los resultados indican que el proceso de transici\u00f3n estar\u00eda relacionado con la estructura curricular sementada en ciclos b\u00e1sico y cl\u00ednicos, la experiencia cl\u00ednica y los logros del proceso educativo: rendimiento acad\u00e9mico y competencias profesionales y acad\u00e9micas; as\u00ed como con sucesos concretos de la vivencia cl\u00ednica que impactan al formaci\u00f3n. Es posible que estos componentes se encuentren, a su vez, asociados a la conformaci\u00f3n de la identidad profesional m\u00e9dica. Por tanto, con el prop\u00f3sito de favorecer una transici\u00f3n exitosa en los estudiantes, desde el enfoque integrador de orientaci\u00f3n educaci\u00f3n, se propone la puesta en marcha de un sistema de educaci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica con dos estrategias base: el apoyo a la formaci\u00f3n y actualizaci\u00f3n docentes, y la instrumentaci\u00f3n de un programa de acci\u00f3n tutorial, para los
