Las principales capacidades del procedimiento descrito son las siguientes. Uso de un metodo iterativo para la resolucion de sistemas de ecuaciones no lineales, que dispone de una estrategia adaptativa para la actualizacion de la matriz de rigidez tangente. Posee la posibilidad de parada y arranque a un determinado paso de carga del modelo, asi como la seleccion del incremento de carga adecuado. Para actualizar las componentes de tension sobre la superficie de fluencia, se han implementado dos procedimientos. El algoritmo de contacto utiliza el metodo de los multiplicadores de lagrange en lugar del metodo de penalizacion. Las restricciones de contacto se introducen en la matriz de rigidez original mediante operaciones matriciales especificas que dan lugar a una matriz de rigidez equivalente definida positiva. El alisado, mediante la cual una funcion discontinua se adecua de forma continua hacia unos valores mas reales, es necesaria en la fase de calculo del error de la malla y en el trasvase de datos de la malla antigua a la nueva, dentro del proceso de rezoning.  se ha desarrollado un estimador de error basado en la densidad de energia de deformacion. Se ha desarrollado un esquema de analisis que incluye la regeneracion de la malla en un instante intermedio del analisis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
