Tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles, navegadores gps, ordenadores y tv son algunos de los ejemplos m\u00e1s patentes de su avance imparable. El cristal l\u00edquido juega un papel preponderante en tama\u00f1os comerciales de hasta 42 pulgadas. Esta tesis se centra en la tecnolog\u00eda lcd de las mezclas antiferroel\u00e9ctricas (aflcs). Entre sus propiedades m\u00e1s sorprendentes destacan la velocidad de respuesta, muy superior a la de los nem\u00e1ticos de las aplicaciones actuales, gracias a la puerta a los esquemas de matriz pasiva. \u00e9stos se caracterizan por no precisar de la electr\u00f3nica de condensadores y transistores asociada a cada p\u00edxel para guardar y mostrar la informaci\u00f3n. En su lugar utilizan la transmisi\u00f3n natural del cristal a una tensi\u00f3n de mantenimiento t\u00edpica del material, para todos los niveles de gris.  la magnitud de los tiempos de respuesta de
