En este trabajo hemos clonado a partir de una genoteca de cdna de pollo, el cdna correspondiente a ps20 de pollo (cps20). Las prote\u00ednas ps20 pertenecen a la superfamilia de prote\u00ednas wap. Esta superfamilia incluye prote\u00ednas que tienen al menos un dominio wap. El dominio wap es un dominio estructural que presenta poca homolog\u00eda en la secuencia pept\u00eddica entre las diferentes prote\u00ednas, excepto en 8 residuos de ciste\u00edna que est\u00e1n altamente conservados. Entre las 8 ciste\u00ednas se forman 4 puentes disulfuro, y son estos 4 puentes disulfuro los responsables del dominio wap. Aunque no tienen ninguna funci\u00f3n asignada, algunos dominios wap tienen funci\u00f3n inhibidora de serinproteasas.  el estudio del patr\u00f3n de expresi\u00f3n de cps20 mostr\u00f3 que se expresa de manera din\u00e1mica en la extremidad del embri\u00f3n pollo, adoptando un patr\u00f3n posterodistal. este patr\u00f3n tan interesante hac\u00eda prever una funci\u00f3n durante el desarrollo, sin embargo la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de cps20 en el embri\u00f3n de pollo, mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de vectores retrovirales rcas no dio lugar a ninguna alteraci\u00f3n en la formaci\u00f3n de la extremidad, obteni\u00e9ndose extremidades completamente normales. El estudio en c\u00e9lulas en cultivo dio como resultado una inhibici\u00f3n del crecimiento en c\u00e9lulas que sobreexpresaban esta prote\u00edna. Tambi\u00e9n se estudi\u00f3 para cps20 la funci\u00f3n inhibidora de serinproteasas que hab\u00eda sido descrita en otras prote\u00ednas wap. Para ello se utiliz\u00f3 la prote\u00edna recombinante cps20his y se estudi\u00f3 la funci\u00f3n inhibidora de tripsina.
