Esta tesis es un estudio, bajo los presupuestos de la antropolog\u00eda social, sobre el ser curitibano en la contemporaneidad -entre 1980 y 2001- analizando el origen, el desarrollo y las pr\u00e1cticas sociales alrededor de esta feria. su foco central son las manifestaciones culturales y simb\u00f3licas que caracterizan la diversidad \u00e9tnica local, y que est\u00e1n presentes en los artefactos hechos artesanalmente, y que expresan su propia percepci\u00f3n y visi\u00f3n del mundo. Este comercio callejero, que ha formado parte de la estrategia pol\u00edtica e ideol\u00f3gica adoptada desde los a\u00f1os setenta del pasado siglo, se sediment\u00f3 en la construcci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes que daban una nueva, moderna y vanguardista visibilidad urbana a curitiba, as\u00ed como en los discursos que despertaban y sensibilizaban el imaginario colectivo de unos habitantes que, por otra parte, conforman una poblaci\u00f3n marcadamente multi\u00e9tnica. La metamorfosis del casco antiguo para crear ese pasillo de la identidad, signific\u00f3 un gran esfuerzo para esta pol\u00edtica, volada ala concienciaci\u00f3n y valorizaci\u00f3n de los oficios manuales como tradici\u00f3n y patrimonio legitimado por la memoria hist\u00f3rica. Pero, al mismo tiempo, este proceso permiti\u00f3 integrar activa, econ\u00f3mica y culturalmente a los vecinos curitibanos en los flujos tur\u00edsticos y comerciales
