El sistema auxilia en la traduccion humana de unidades lexicas, mostrando comportamientos pasivos y activos. De este modo, ademas de ser un sistema de consulta, anhitz adquiere la dimension de un sistema de ayuda inteligente.  se han tratado los campos de la traduccion humana asistida por ordenador, la lexicografia computacional y los sistemas de ayuda basados en el conocimiento en un intento de integrar estas disciplinas. En nuestra opinion este tipo de intentos de integracion resultan fructiferos y enriquecedores. Y nos atreveriamos a decir que hasta necesarios, puesto que la ayuda a los usuarios humanos en el uso de los diccionarios deberia ir mas alla de los diccionarios pasivos clasicos. Los diccionarios deben ser instrumentos especializados, activos y capaces de auxiliar en el desarrollo de tareas complejas.  como metodolog\u00eda de dise\u00f1o, en lugar del prototipado rapido, se propone la utilizacion de modelos formales y la distincion clara entre la especificacion y la implementacion. En nuestro trabajo y resultados se ha reflejado una diferenciacion en cuatro niveles de conocimiento: del dominio, de inferencia, de tarea y estrategico.  el nivel de dominio e inferencia estan recogidos en la base de conocimiento diccionarial anhitz.
