(11-12 a\u00f1os), sobre las cuales basar un diagnostico individual de los alumnos y poder adoptar decisiones instruccionales que ayuden a mejorar dicho rendimiento. La tesis consiste pues en construir un modelo explicativo teorico de la estructura de relaciones causales entre una serie de variables y el rendimiento en matematicas. La investigacion trata de construir un modelo teorico de relaciones causales entre las variables consideradas y evaluarlo mediante la tecnica lisrel de analisis de ecuaciones estructurales. Por ajustes progresivos del modelo propuesto inicialmente se propone un modelo final donde figuran las variables: inteligencia general, memoria, habitos de estudio, autoconcepto academico, comprension lectora y resolucion de problemas que sirva de guia para una eficaz intervencion en el aula que ayude a superar el bajo rendimiento en matematicas, que tiene niveles alarmantes a partir de 6 de
