Estas acciones est\u00e1n mediadas por la interacci\u00f3n de la hormona con tres subtipos de receptores membranares bien diferenciados, v1a, v1b, v2, que pertenecen a la gran familia de receptores acoplados a prote\u00ednas g. De todos los receptores del subtipo v1b, que controla la secreci\u00f3n hipofisaria de acth y ciertas funciones del comportamiento como el estr\u00e9s y la ansiedad, ha sido siempre el menos estudiado por la falta de ligandos selectivos de esta isoforma durante mucho tiempo.  el objetivo del presente estudio ha consistido en sintetizar y caracterizar nuevos ligandos selectivos y en definir los determinantes moleculares del receptor v1b, que sustentan su especificidad farmacol\u00f3gica.     a lo largo de este trabajo las modificaciones en la estructura de la hormona natural a nivel de las posiciones 1, 4 y 8 han permitido generar los primeros agonistas selectivos del receptor v1b, humano y de rata.     gracias al estudio de modernizaci\u00f3n molecular y de mutag\u00e9nesis dirigida se ha demostrado el papel fundamental de:     * la tronina 203 y la metionina 324 en la especificidad de interacci\u00f3n del receptor v1b con el antagonista selectivo ssr149415.     * la valina en posici\u00f3n 169 y la prolina en posici\u00f3n 196 en la interacci\u00f3n del receptor v1b con el agonista selectivo d[cha4]avp.     * el glutamato en posici\u00f3n 37 y el aspartato en posici\u00f3n 95 como responsables de la interacci\u00f3n con la hormona natural.     esta investigaci\u00f3n ha permitido ampliar los datos moleculares concernientes al receptor v1b as\u00ed como la caracterizaci\u00f3n de nuevas herramientas farmacol\u00f3gicas. La relaci\u00f3n de la avp con los fen\u00f3menos de ansiedad y depresi\u00f3n incita a la continuaci\u00f3n de este estudio en la perspectiva de desarrollar nuevos
