Por otro lado, la estructura de tama\u00f1os de la comunidad de fitoplancton determina la capacidad de los ecosistemas marinos para reciclar material org\u00e1nica o exportarla hacia niveles tr\u00f3ficos superiores, ecosistemas adyacentes, y en \u00faltima instancia, hacia las capas profundas del oc\u00e9ano donde puede quedar retenida durante largos periodos de tiempo controlando de esta forma los niveles de co2 atmosf\u00e9ricos y, por lo tanto, a escala global contribuyendo al control del cima terrestre. en esencia, los ecosistemas planct\u00f3nicos dominados pero c\u00e9lulas de fitoplancton de tama\u00f1o peque\u00f1o son generalmente ambientes muy poco productivos y en ellos se favorecen los procesos de reciclado. Los ecosistemas planct\u00f3nicos productivos, sin embargo, est\u00e1n dominados por c\u00e9lulas de fitoplancton de tama\u00f1o grande y en ellos se favorecen los procesos de exportaci\u00f3n. En esta tesis se ha analizado la estructura de tama\u00f1os de la comunidad de fitoplancton en t\u00e9rminos de abundancia, biomasa y fotos\u00edntesis durante un ciclo anual completo en la r\u00eda de vigo. nuestro objetivo fue investigar el papel que juega la estructura de tama\u00f1os del fitoplancton en el funcionamiento ecol\u00f3gico y biogeoqu\u00edmico de un ecosistema costero eutr\u00f3fico. los resultados obtenidos en esta tesis indican que la estructura de tama\u00f1os de la comunidad de fitoplancton de la r\u00eda de vigo est\u00e1 dominada por c\u00e9lulas de tama\u00f1o grande durante la \u00e9poca estival o de afloramientos, y por una clara codominancia de las diferentes clases de tama\u00f1o durante el periodo invernal. durante la \u00e9poca de
