Durante el mioceno, los g\u00e9neros hispanomeryx micromeryx fueron un importante componente de las faunas de mam\u00edferos continentales.  en la presente tesis se ofrece una revisi\u00f3n sistem\u00e1tica y taxon\u00f3mica de las poblaciones espa\u00f1olas de micromeryx e hispanomeryx, as\u00ed como un an\u00e1lisis de sus relaciones filogen\u00e9ticas. Adem\u00e1s, se lleva a cabo el an\u00e1lisis filogen\u00e9tico de moschidae, demostrando su monofilia y ofreciendo una hip\u00f3tesis de parentesco alternativa dentro de pecora, como grupo hermano de los b\u00f3vidos, lo que refuta su tradicional visi\u00f3n como parientes cercanos de los c\u00e9rvidos.
