En esta l\u00ednea, poder disponer de materiales piezoel\u00e9ctricos que puedan operar en condiciones de uso extremas (altas temperaturas y ambientes agresivos) resulta particularmente interesante para diferentes aplicaciones tecnol\u00f3gicas. Adem\u00e1s, la sensibilizaci\u00f3n social por temas ecol\u00f3gicos ha potenciado el estudio de nuevos materiales piezoel\u00e9ctricos libres de plomo, elemento b\u00e1sico de la mayor\u00eda de los ferroel\u00e9ctricos convencionales. eltitanato de bismuto, bi4ti3o12 (bit), pertenece a la familia de \u00f3xidos laminares de bismuto con estructura aurivillius, cuya estructura cristalina caracter\u00edstica da lugar a propiedades anis\u00f3tropas. Las cer\u00e1micas basadas en bit muestran t\u00edpicamente una microestructura de grandes granos con forma de placa que crecen preferentemente a lo largo del plano ab de la estructura. Al mismo tiempo, tanto la polarizaci\u00f3n espont\u00e1nea como la conductividad de estas cer\u00e1micas son m\u00e1ximas en el plano ab, lo que dificulta la polarizaci\u00f3n de estos materiales preparados en forma cer\u00e1mica, y por consiguiente la obtenci\u00f3n de respuesta piezoel\u00e9ctrica. Por tanto, para obtener cer\u00e1micas piezoel\u00e9ctricas \u00fatiles, la conductividad el\u00e9ctrica debe disminuir y para ello, se busca variar las propiedades el\u00e9ctricas modificando esta fase con uno o m\u00e1s dopantes. El procesado tambi\u00e9n puede modificar el comprotamiento el\u00e9ctrico del bi4ti3o12 por cambios en el h\u00e1bito de crecimiento de grano, sin embargo, todav\u00eda no hay un conocimiento detallado sobre estos puntos. as\u00ed, existen numerosos aspectos sobre cer\u00e1micas basadas en bit que a\u00fan no son bien conocidos debido a la complejidad del sistema.
