El m\u00e9todo m\u00e1s eficaz para reducir la mortalidad actualmente, es la detecci\u00f3n precoz de lesiones y el diagn\u00f3stico de las mismas. Respecto a la detecci\u00f3n, las dificultades est\u00e1n en relaci\u00f3n con el peque\u00f1o tama\u00f1o de las lesiones, el bajo contraste de la imagen en algunas \u00e1reas, la superposici\u00f3n de tejidos normales con estructuras sospechosas, los artefactos en la mamograf\u00edas, etc. El diagn\u00f3stico de las lesiones encontradas, depende en gran medida del entrenamiento, experiencia y diligencia del radi\u00f3logo a la hora de interpretar las mamograf\u00edas. el objetivo fundamental que se persigue es evitar tanto los falsos positivos como los negativos. Para reducir la tasa de fallos diagn\u00f3sticos y biopsias innecesarias, puede utilizarse la doble lectura. Aunque este m\u00e9todo consigue su objetivo, plantea los siguientes inconvenientes: aumenta la carga de trabajo y los costes. Por ello, esta tesis propone el dise\u00f1o de un sistema inteligente para la detecci\u00f3n, pron\u00f3stico y diagn\u00f3stico de anomal\u00edas mamarias utilizando t\u00e9cnicas originales. este sistema ha sido dise\u00f1ado para la detecci\u00f3n en forma paralela de masas y microcalcificaciones), se emplean algoritmos basados en visi\u00f3n artificial y morfolog\u00eda matem\u00e1tica. Para el pron\u00f3stico (benigno o maligno) y el diagn\u00f3stico (patol\u00f3gico9 se utilizan redes de neuronas artificiales. En el pron\u00f3stico, se utilizan redes de neuronas alimentadas hacia delante con un algoritmo de entrenamiento supervisado. En el diagn\u00f3stico se usan redes de kohonen. el sistema dise\u00f1ado se compone de tres m\u00f3dulos; un primer m\u00f3dulo, denominado subsistema de detecci\u00f3n de masas, encargado de la segmentaci\u00f3n y obtenci\u00f3n de las caracter\u00edsticas de las masas que pudieran presentarse en una mamograf\u00eda digitalizada.
