Numerosos estudios han descrito que la acumulaci\u00f3n de especies derivadas de \u00e1cidos grasos en m\u00fasculo, ya sea debido a un aporte excesivo de l\u00edpidos o a un fallo en su oxidaci\u00f3n, conducen a una resistencia a la insulina. En esta tesis se ha estudiado si un aumento en la oxidaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos en m\u00fasculo es capaz de impedir la acumulaci\u00f3n de sus derivados lip\u00eddicos y por lo tanto evitar la resistencia a la insulina ocasionada por ellos. As\u00ed se ha demostrado que la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de cpt i y por lo tanto de la oxidaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos, impide su acumulaci\u00f3n y por lo tanto protege a la c\u00e9lula de la resistencia a la insulina,. Se ha demostrado tambi\u00e9n que el c75 (un f\u00e1rmaco descrito como activador de la cpt i), a trav\u00e9s de su activaci\u00f3n a c75-coa, se comporta como un inhibidor de la cpt i y por lo tanto de la oxidaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos en m\u00fasculo esquel\u00e9tico. por \u00faltimo, no se ha podido demostrar que fat\/cd36 juegue un papel importante en la oxidaci\u00f3n de \u00e1cidos grasos en condiciones de estudio utilizadas. Estos resultados confirman la importancia del metabolismo lip\u00eddico en la resistencia a la insulina en m\u00fasculo y describen la cpt i como una posible diana farmacol\u00f3gica para el tratamiento de la resistencia a la insulina y la diabetes de tipo 2. por otro lado describen una nueva acci\u00f3n del c75 sobre la actividad cpt i y sugieren la necesidad de realizar m\u00e1s
