Entre los objetivos de la presente tesis nos planteamos caracterizar gen\u00e9ticamente algunos de los factores que contribuyen a la virulencia de p.Damselae subsp.Piscicida, con especial \u00e9nfasis en los sistemas de adquisici\u00f3n de hierro. Asimismo, hemos analizada diversidad gen\u00e9tica existente entre cepas de esta subespecie, y determinado algunas de las divergencias gen\u00e9ticas entre cepas en las dos subespecies de p.Damselae. Como punto de partida hemos identificado en primer lugar el gen que codifica la prote\u00edna fur (ferric uptake regulator), cuya secuencia ha mostrado una homolog\u00eda del 99,3% entre las dos subespecies de p.Damselae, diferenci\u00e1ndose la prote\u00edna es un \u00fanico amino\u00e1cido de los 148 que consta. Adem\u00e1s, hemos demostrado que fur act\u00faa en p.Damselae como un regulador transcripcional dependiente de las concentraciones de hierro del medio. Por otra parte se ha identificado y caracterizado un sistema de captaci\u00f3n de grupos hemo como fuente de hierro en las dos subespecies de p.Damselae compuesto por las prote\u00ednas huta, tonbexbbd, hutbcd y hutwxz. Dicho sistema mostr\u00f3 una elevada similitud con las prote\u00ednas de los sistemas de captaci\u00f3n de hemo de otros miembros de la familia vibrionaceae, y una identidad cercana al 100% entre ambas subespecies. sin embargo, hemos detectado indicios de microevoluci\u00f3n intraespec\u00edfica en este sistema: el gen del receptor de membrana externa huta se encuentra interrumpido constituyendo un pseudogen en muchas de las cepas de piscicida. Curiosamente, las \u00fanicas cepas de las subsp.Piscida que poseen el gen huta intacto constituyen una posible l\u00ednea clonal de aislados procedentes de jap\u00f3n.
