Para ello se estudia el concepto de servicio publico y su desarrollo historico, distinguiendo cuidadosamente entre servicio publico objetivo (llamado publico porque el objeto que produce es un bien comun de interes general) y el servicio publico subjetivo (llamado publico por el caracter del sujeto -la publica autoridad- que asume la responsabilidad de producirlo).  tal concepto de servicio publico se aplica en nuestro caso a la comunicacion colectiva como vehiculo de entretenimiento, informacion y formacion o cultura, concepto este ultimo cercano al de opinion privada y publica. Se examina por lo tanto si estas tres reconocidas dimensiones de la comunicacion colectiva pueden ser consideradas servicio publico objetivo y subjetivo.  iniciando el estudio de campo, se recorren las dimensiones de la iglesia (como colectividad a la que se pretende prestar este servicio de informacion y orientacion) mas relacionadas con la actividad comunicativa. Y se entra despues en el estudio de radio vaticano.  necesitando concretizar el objeto de la investigacion sin hacer por ello un estudio historico, se ha optado por realizar una cronohistoria de radio vaticano, para pasar luego a estudiar las fuentes de las que la emisora puede servirse para fijar sus objetivos, las dimensiones fundamentales, areas tematicas y principios redaccionales impuestos por estos objetivos, y la consiguiente atribucion que se puede dar a los mensajes de la emisora.  se pasa despues a estudiar en concreto la naturaleza, estructura tecnica y estructura jerarquica y
