En realidad, las distribuciones de duraciones de grbs cortos y largos deben tener un intervalo de duraciones donde se solapan, y la clasificaci\u00f3n cl\u00e1sica es incapaz de clasificar grbs en esta regi\u00f3n.  esta tesis propone una nueva clasificaci\u00f3n de grbs. Mediante el uso de m\u00faltiples variables intr\u00ednsecas al grb y mediante el uso de algoritmos de clasificaci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica propios de la inteligencia artificial, como son el an\u00e1lisis de clusters y las redes neuronales, se consigue una clasificaci\u00f3n objetiva de grbs con la que podemos discriminar a qu\u00e9 clase pertenece cada grb incluso en la regi\u00f3n de solapamiento de la distribuci\u00f3n de duraciones.  adem\u00e1s, esos algoritmos sugieren la existencia de 3 clases de grbs diferentes. presentamos pues, dos clasificaciones de grbs, una de dos clases (2-i y 2-ii) y otras en tres clases (3-i, 3-ii y 3-iii). La clasificaci\u00f3n en dos clases recupera las caracter\u00edsticas de la clasificaci\u00f3n cl\u00e1sica de grbs, mientras que la clasificaci\u00f3n en tres clases propone una nueva clase de grbs de duraci\u00f3n intermedia y blandos. En esta clasificaci\u00f3n los grbs de clase 3-iii tienen como principal caracter\u00edstica una evoluci\u00f3n de la luminosidad con el redshift. Son estos grbs los candidatos ideales a provenir del colapso de estrellas muy masivas a trav\u00e9s del fen\u00f3meno conocido como colapsar. por otra parte, los grbs de clase 3-i y 3-ii se dan a distancias medias menores que los de clase 3-iii, siendo candidatos ideales a provenir de la fusi\u00f3n de sistemas dobles compactos.  la segunda parte de la tesis est\u00e1 dedicada a la
