Otros autores han propuesto el uso de la rama espiratoria de la curva presi\u00f3n-volumen, al ser la peep un fen\u00f3meno espiratorio cuyo objetivo es mantener la aireaci\u00f3n conseguida durante la inspiraci\u00f3n previa.  el an\u00e1lisis cuantitativo de im\u00e1genes de tomograf\u00eda computerizada pulmonar permite medir el volumen de aire en cada corte tomogr\u00e1fico. Usando esta t\u00e9cnica, en el presente trabajo se estudia el grado de aireaci\u00f3n pulmonar a lo largo de toda la curva presi\u00f3n-volumen en condiciones est\u00e1ticas y durante la ventilaci\u00f3n convencional. Los resultados muestran que la rama espiratoria presenta un mayor nivel de aireaci\u00f3n pulmonar, y que el punto de m\u00e1xima curvatura de la rama espiratoria de la curva presi\u00f3n-volumen es un buen marcador del inicio de la p\u00e9rdida de la aireaci\u00f3n alveolar. durante la ventilaci\u00f3n convencional, una peep a nivel de este punto se asocia a una mejor\u00eda en la
