La primera parte examina el concepto de angry young man en sus dos vertientes de novela y teatro, as\u00ed como la poes\u00eda de the movement y la recopilaci\u00f3n de ensayos de intelectuales de la \u00e9poca denominada declaration. Posteriormente, se incluye un segundo bloque de car\u00e1cter conceptual, que realiza un an\u00e1lisis formal de elementos sobre las m\u00faltiples realidades del free cinema: fuentes procedentes de sequence, sight and sound, universities and left review and declaration, as\u00ed como estudios cr\u00edticos para establecer el estado de la cuesti\u00f3n hasta la fecha. Finalmente, se incluyen seis cap\u00edtulos descriptivos para analizar los seis programas del free cinema presentados en el national film theatre entre 1956 y 1959. Esta tesis concluye que el free cinema deber\u00eda ocupar un lugar entre los modelos de representaci\u00f3n del documentalismo hist\u00f3rico cinematogr\u00e1fico, asimismo realiza una reconstrucci\u00f3n espacio-temporal de las 23 pel\u00edculas proyectadas, incluidas las no brit\u00e1nicas, y demuestra que el free cinema no fue un cine de compromiso pol\u00edtico o social, sino un
