Aqu\u00ed demostramos que el anticuerpo monoclonal anti-mt1-mmp afecta a la migraci\u00f3n de monocitos humanos estimulada con mcp-1 sobre fibronectina, vcam-1 e icam-1. Adem\u00e1s, la transmigraci\u00f3n de monocitos a trav\u00e9s de endotelio activado con tnf- es tambi\u00e9n inhibida por el anticuerpo anti-mt1-mmp. Por esto, decidimos investigar la regulaci\u00f3n de mt1-mmp en monocitos aislados de sangre perif\u00e9rica. primero, pudimos observar c\u00famulos de mt1-mmp en protrusiones de membrana asociadas a motilidad en monocitos estimulados con mcp-1 migrando sobre fibronectina, vcam-1 o icam-1, y en el frente de avance, colocalizando con profilina, en monocitos transmigrando a trav\u00e9s de c\u00e9lulas endoteliales activadas. Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n observamos una inducci\u00f3n en la expresi\u00f3n de mt1-mmp en monocitos humanos tras su adhesi\u00f3n a fibronectina de una manera dependiente de las integrinas  4 1 y  5 1. La uni\u00f3n de monocitos a c\u00e9lulas endoteliales activadas con tnf-  as\u00ed como a vcam-1 o icam-1 tambi\u00e9n induc\u00eda la expresi\u00f3n de mt1-mmp. Estos datos correlacionan con el aumento en la actividad fibrinol\u00edtica observado en monocitos unidos a fibronectina, vcam-1 o icam-1. Nuestros datos muestran c\u00f3mo se requiere mt1-mmp durante la migraci\u00f3n de monocitos humanos y durante su transmigraci\u00f3n endotelial, adem\u00e1s de la regulaci\u00f3n de su localizaci\u00f3n, expresi\u00f3n y actividad en monocitos en contacto con fibronectina o los ligandos endoteliales, poniendo de manifiesto el papel relevante que mt1-mmp puede desempe\u00f1ar en el
