El sistema dise\u00f1ado utiliza un mecanismo \u00f3ptico de transducci\u00f3n (resonancia de plasm\u00f3n superficial, spr) para detectar contaminantes ambientales mediante el an\u00e1lisis de las interacciones biol\u00f3gicas que suceden en su superficie. Con este objetivo se siguieron las siguientes etapas durante el proceso de caracterizaci\u00f3n del biosensor:       1. Optimizaci\u00f3n del proceso de inmovilizaci\u00f3n del receptor biol\u00f3gico mediante la evaluaci\u00f3n de diversas estrategias de modificaci\u00f3n de la superficie del transductor.  2. Caracterizaci\u00f3n de los ensayos anal\u00edticos utilizando el biosensor para determinar analitos de elevada importancia toxicol\u00f3gica, pertenecientes a tres de los principales grupos de pesticidas org\u00e1nicos: organoclorados (ddt), organofosforados (clorpirifos) y carbamatos (carbaril), alcanzando valores de sensibilidad (ng l-1) dentro de los l\u00edmites establecidos por las normativas europeas.  3. Determinaci\u00f3n de la reproducibilidad, exactitud y precisi\u00f3n del m\u00e9todo, obteniendo valores de desviaci\u00f3n est\u00e1ndar y recuperaci\u00f3n (80-120%) que se ajustan a las recomendaciones de los organismos de control internacionales (iupac, aoac). 4. Investigaci\u00f3n de la ausencia de efecto matriz en muestras de agua reales procedentes de distintas fuentes (superficiales, subterr\u00e1neas, de bebida). 5. Validaci\u00f3n de los resultados obtenidos con los del m\u00e9todo de referencia definido para cada analito. La comparaci\u00f3n de los resultados indic\u00f3 una excelente correlaci\u00f3n entre m\u00e9todos (coeficientes de correlaci\u00f3n: r2 =0,99). 6. Aplicaci\u00f3n del m\u00e9todo desarrollado a la detecci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea y m\u00faltiple de varios contaminantes ambientales. 7.
