Se determinan las unidades de vegetacion existentes en los terrenos con valor naturalistico y conservacionista, verificandose la presencia de especies raras y escasa en bizkaia y en la cav, y otras sujetas al cites.  jb se organiza en colecciones definidas por sus funciones conservacionista, investigadora y didactica. Se establece el contenido y requerimientos del jardin taxonomico, arboretum representativo de regiones biogeograficas (e y o de norteamerica, chino-japones, austral), coleccion de referencia de plantas le\u00f1osas del pais vasco, de acuaticas autoctonas y exoticas, alpina e intertropical.  se ha ensayado una coleccion de plantas vivas, priorizandose el cultivo a partir de semilla, para su posterior integracion en el jb. Se evaluan los resultados de dos endemismos (armeria euscadiensis y soldanella villosa) y de parientes de especies de interes economico a partir de semilla silvestre (brassica oleracea).  se ha realizado la ordenacion taxonomica de todo el material vegetal propuesto para el jb, describiendose las subclases y ordenes segun caracteres morfologicos y fitoquimicos. Se definen los requerimientos de 1.425 especies seleccionadas mediante criterios taxonomicos, morfologicos, conservacionistas, biogeograficos, fisiologicos, ecologicos, didacticos, utilitarios,
