En el sur de europa, distintos proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n han mostrado el car\u00e1cter no local de estos procesos, con interacciones a diferentes escalas, present\u00e1ndose de manera frecuente, la menos durante la mitad del a\u00f1o (abril-septiembre).  en este trabajo se muestra c\u00f3mo la aplicaci\u00f3n combinada de t\u00e9cnicas experimentales adecuadas a estas escalas y de modelos meteorol\u00f3gicos de mesoescala, permite profundizar en el conocimiento de estas circulaciones y de los mecanismos de transporte y acumulaci\u00f3n de contaminantes durante situaciones epis\u00f3dicas: se presentan aplicaciones en estudios relevantes realizados en la costa norte y este de la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica.  por otra parte, el estudio de la variabilidad espacial del co2 en la regi\u00f3n de Valencia, permite extraer conclusiones que pueden tener implicaciones en las metodolog\u00edas utilizadas actualmente en el estudio del comportamiento del co2, a nivel planetario global. De esta forma, los gradientes verticales y horizontales (tierra-mar) de co2 simulados en la regi\u00f3n de Valencia a alta resoluci\u00f3n con el modelo de mesoescala, no pueden resolverse con modelos de escala global. Esto supone que en regiones de similares caracter\u00edsticas, los resultados de los modelos utilizados actualmente en el estudio del co2 a escala global pueden presentar desviaciones
