Esta interacci\u00f3n hace que el equilibrio qu\u00edmico establecido en \u00e9l pueda romperse en un momento dado. Hasta que este desequilibrio qu\u00edmico establecido se produce, existe un periodo de reacci\u00f3n, durante el cual el suelo tiene capacidad de respuesta frente a los impactos que le lleguen. Esta capacidad de respuesta del medio, promoviendo reacciones de neutralizaci\u00f3n, precipitaci\u00f3n, adsorci\u00f3n etc., se conoce como capacidad amortiguadora o capacidad tamp\u00f3n. Cuando esa capacidad tamp\u00f3n se supera, es cuando comienzan los problemas y se puede hablar de contaminaci\u00f3n (macias, 1993).  en este trabajo se muestra la distribuci\u00f3n de las concentraciones de metales pesados en los suelos de la provincia de m\u00e1laga, considerando las caracter\u00edsticas fisiogr\u00e1ficas, edafol\u00f3gicas y litol\u00f3gicas.
