doctoral de <strong> Mar\u00eda Montes Bayon <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El plasma de acoplamiento inductivo icp surgi\u00f3 como fuente de excitaci\u00f3n en emisi\u00f3n at\u00f3mica, pero durane los \u00fatlimos diez a\u00f1os su aplicaci\u00f3n como fuente de ionizaci\u00f3n para espectrometr\u00eda de masas ha desarrollado un extraordinario crecimiento, este r\u00e1pido desarrollo se debe principalmente a tres caracter\u00edsitcas fundamentales; la t\u00e9cnica ofrece la posibilidad de obtener l\u00edmites de detercci\u00f3n que est\u00e1n en el intervalo de las partes por trill\u00f3n para la mayor parte de los elementos de la tabla peri\u00f3dica, los espectros de masas de los elementos son simples y f\u00e1ciles de interpretar y finalmente, se pueden llevar a cabo medidas de relaciones isot\u00f3picas utilizando la diluci\u00f3n isot\u00f3pica como m\u00e9todo de cuantificaci\u00f3n con buena exactitud y precisi\u00f3n.  el icp-ms posee adem\u00e1s una posibilidad de determinaci\u00f3n alternativa al an\u00e1lisis cuantitativo y cualitativo, que es el an\u00e1lisis semicuantitativo. la posibilidad de realizar an\u00e1lisis semicuantitativos r\u00e1pidos de muchos elementos se ha abordado en detalle en la realizaci\u00f3n de la presente tesis doctoral utilizando equipos tanto de cuadrupolo como de doble enfoque o alta resoluci\u00f3n.  adem\u00e1s, la t\u00e9cnica icp-ms se ha empleado para abordar problemas de especiaci\u00f3n met\u00e1licanto en muestras de inter\u00e9s biol\u00f3gico donde se ha explorado su potencial como detector acoplado a la cromatograf\u00eda de l\u00edquidos hplc como d einter\u00e9s medioambiental donde se ha acoplado a la cromatograf\u00eda de gases cg a trav\u00e9s de una nueva interfase dise\u00f1ada y patentada en
