Sin embargo, existen muy pocos estudios de comparacion de genes ribosomicos entre miembros de una especie con el proposito de conocer el modo de evaluacion de estas secuencias. esta tesis doctoral contribuye al conocimiento de la evolucion del operon ribosomico, mediante la secuenciacion de los genes rrna 16s y 23s y de sus regiones espaciadoras intergenicas en varios operones y cepas de escherichia coli.  los operones ribosomicos fueron amplificados mediante el dise\u00f1o de cebadores especificos para cada locus ribosomico y los productos de pcr fueron secuenciados. el analisis de secuencias determino la diversidad de secuencia en los operones ribosomicos y la localizacion de regiones variables en los genes rrna, que coinciden con helices de estructura secundaria, en las que se han encontrado varias secuencias diferentes y que en todos los casos, conservan el apaeramiento de bases suficiente para mantener la estructura secundaria de la region variable.  ademas, se ha analizado la presencia de secuencias altamente variables del operon rrn en todas las cepas de la colecci\u00f3n ecor, estableciendo la distribucion de dicha diversidad de secuencia en una poblacion natural de cepas de e.Coli. Los datos obtenidos tambien se han aplicado a una poblacion de cepas uropatogenas de e.Coli observandose una asociacion entre grupos intraespecificos de estas ceps y ciertas secuencias variables del operon rrn.
