Esta definici\u00f3n de la naturaleza engendra una din\u00e1mica constante entre aquello que se puede decir y aquello que no se peude decir, una tensi\u00f3n deial\u00e9ctica que se presenta por todo el periphyseon. Por un lado, la palabra se relaciona conel concocimiento y posee un car\u00e1cter ontol\u00f3gico; por otro lado, el silencia muestra la ignorancia acerca del no ser. La palabra designa el conocimiento de aquello que el esp\u00edritu puede aprehender, a la vez que el silenciao nombra el no conocimiento, la ignoarancia acerca de aquello que supera las capacidades intelectuales y que es incomprensible. Conocimiento e ignoracia expresan en un nivel epstemol\u00f3gico la diferencia primordial entre ser y no ser, el conocimiento, en cuanto palabra, dice un mundo que toma lugar en \u00e9l, mientras que la ignorancia, como silencio, se\u00f1ala la incomprensibilidad del ser de ese mundo, es decir, el inefable no se.
