La naturaleza irreversible de este proceso no permite la aplicaci\u00f3n directa de los metodos de la mecanica estadistica de equilibrio. Por ello, hasta el momento, su descripcion teorica se ha basado fundamentalmente en modelos geometricos secuenciales en los cuales el proceso real de adsorci\u00f3n se sustituye por reglas simples para la inserci\u00f3n de nuevas particulas en la interfase.  el objetivo de esta tesis es elaborar una descripci\u00f3n de la adsorci\u00f3n irreversible basado en un promedio estadistico sobre la ecuacion de transporte que gobierna el comportamiento de las particulas. En la primera parte de la tesis, se inicia dicho analisis estudiando un modelo simplificado es que una suspensi\u00f3n de discos duros se difunde y sedimenta, adsorbi\u00e9ndose irreversiblemente en una linea. En la segunda parte de la tesis se aborda la situaci\u00f3n general, proponi\u00e9ndose un nuevo formalismo mecanico-estadistico que permite obtener una descripcion consistente del proceso de adsorci\u00f3n a partir de la ecuaci\u00f3n de transporte mesoscopica que gobierna el comportamiento de las particulas en suspension. Se desarrollan explicitamente las aplicaciones de dicho formalismo al caso de una suspensi\u00f3n de esferas duras difusivas y de esferas interactuantes mediantes fuerzas electrost\u00e1ticas apantalladas y de van der walls, tipicas de los sistemas coloidales. En ambos casos, los resultados difieren notablemente de los modelos geometricos clasicos y se obtiene buen acurdo con resultados de simulaciones y con experimentos publicados en la literatura. Finalmente, debido a la complejidad del metodo propuesto, se desarrolla una aproximacion de medio efectivo que permite calcular las magnitudes de interes de forma autoconsistente en el caso bidimensional.
