Se realiz\u00f3 un estudio de sus diferentes fracturas, as\u00ed como de la infuencia de los posibles tratamientos a llevar a cabo. para ello se desarrollaron los correspondientes modelos de elementos finitos(mef) para su posterior analisis. La realizaci\u00f3n de estos modelos implic\u00f3 la suposici\u00f3n de ciertas simplifaciones: comportamiento el\u00e1stico lineal homogeneo e is\u00f3tropo del tejido oseo, consideracion de unos casos concretos de cargas y condiciones de apoyo, etc.  a pesar de estas limitaciones, ha sido realizado un an\u00e1lisis cualitativo obteniendo resultados razonablemente buenos, permitiendo incluso la obtenci\u00f3n de resultados cl\u00ednicos, algunos novedosos y otros corroborados experimentalmente.  con la pretensi\u00f3n de mejorar los modelos presentados anteriormente, se plante\u00f3 el estudio pormenorizado de la caracterizaci\u00f3n del tejido \u00f3seo. se ha realizado una revisi\u00f3n de los diferentes modelos matem\u00e1ticos que reproducen el comportamiento adaptativo del tejido oseo, estos consiguen reproducir de forma razonablemente adecuada la heterogeneidad del hueso pero no as\u00ed sus propiedades anis\u00f3tropo, basado en la teor\u00eda de la mecanica del da\u00f1o. Esta nueva formulaci\u00f3n reproduce adecuadamente, en funci\u00f3n del estado mec\u00e1nico, no s\u00f3lo la heterogeneidad del hueso sino tambi\u00e9n la anisotrop\u00eda. adem\u00e1s el modelo verifica impl\u00edcitamente una serie de propiedades completamente coherentes con lo observado experimentalmente.  se plantea tambi\u00e9n un nuevo modelo de remodelaci\u00f3n osea externa basada en las t\u00e9cnicas de optimizaci\u00f3n de cao, consiguiendo reproducirno s\u00f3lo la evoluci\u00f3n de la forma externa del hueso sino tambi\u00e9n su velocidad.  posteriormente, se realiza un
