En consecuencia, el agravio comparativo estre especies tiene un especial sentido,m\u00e1xime si se parte del conocimiento de la existencia enla especia humana de factores gen\u00e9ticos y hereditarios que condicionan estos procesos. En el presente trabajo se estudia la verdadera incidencia espont\u00e1nea de estas proliferaciones anormales de c\u00e9lulas c en tres razas de ratas (wistar, long-evans y wag\/rij) y se ensayan los l\u00edmites diagnosticos, si realmente existen, entre la hiperplasia difusa (hpd), la nodular(fpf), el adenoma (acc) y el carcinoma(ccc), todo ello sustentado con una aproximaci\u00f3n morfom\u00e9trica.  el diagn\u00f3stico diferencial entre hpf y acc se establece valorando el grado de extensi\u00f3n y el grado de heterogeneidad inmunohistoqu\u00edmica de la reacci\u00f3n para la calcitonina. Entre acc y ccc la distinci\u00f3n se basa en la cantidad de masa tumoral, crecimiento invasivo, atipia celular y mayor heterogeneidad inmunohistoqu\u00edmica. La mayor incidencia de tumores de c\u00e9lulas c ocurre en las ratas waj\/rij(75%). Por otro lado, los tumores benignos son m\u00e1s frecuentes en la raza long-evans(58,8%). Los acc se presentan con dimensiones m\u00e1s reducidas que los ccc, y la raza de rata en que asienta la lesi\u00f3n se relaciona con el di\u00e1metro y la forma tumoral(coeficiente de forma). En base a la alta incidencia y dem\u00e1s hallazgos, los tumores de c\u00e9lulas c espontaneos del tiroides de la rata son un excelente modelo experimental para el estudio de la enfermedad
