Tambien aporta nuevas contribuciones a la sintesis de 3-(1-hidroxialquil)- y 4-(1-hidroxialquil)-beta-lactamas, lo que ha permitido acceder a 3-(1-dimetilfenilsililalquil)-4-alcoxicarbonil-beta-lactam as de modo estereoselectivo y en una sola etapa, tambien se ha logrado por vez primera la sintesis asimetrica completamente estereoselectiva de beta-lactamas portadoras de centros esterogenicos
